Meet The Artist

Maggie Holmes is an artist based in Greenville, South Carolina, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. Raised in a creative family, painting has always been a constant in her life. She earned her BA in Studio Art—with concentrations in painting and photography—from the University of Georgia. Fueled by a love of travel and cultural exploration, she continued her studies abroad at Florence University of the Arts in Italy and through the University of Georgia’s Study Abroad program in Costa Rica.
After college, Maggie spent two years in New York City working as a photography assistant, an experience that sharpened her eye for light, composition, and narrative. She later returned to the South, where she has been painting and teaching art ever since.

Influenced by her background in photography and inspired by nature, color, and travel, Maggie’s work centers on florals, landscapes, and children’s portraits—subjects that invite emotional resonance and moments of quiet reflection. Her paintings are best known for their palette-knife textures and loose, expressive strokes, brought to life with soothing, joy-filled colors.
Through each piece, Maggie aims to capture the beauty in the everyday, evoking memories or feelings that create moments of peace, warmth, and wonder.
